Find Root
Hello.
I have a question regarding how to find a root for
x^(a+1) - x^a - b = 0
where a>0, b>0.
If a=1, this is a quadratic equation and a closed-form solution can be
obtained. However, if a!=1, is it possible to find a closed-form
solution?
Thanks. Suggestions and comments are welcomed.
