simple query re. MAXIMA

This has to be the stupidest question I have ever asked here, and I
apologize for taking your time. I have recently started working with
MAXIMA. I can do symbolic differentiation and integration, but I can't
do this: what command do I use to get a1 + 1/a2 to give me
the equivalent of (a1*a2 + 1)/a2 , i.e. clearing fractions? Your
indulgence is appreciated.
