Even IF (and I know that this is a big "if", since it is false) the sun
were absorbing enough matter to burn at a steady state for eternity, it
would still not be considered a perpetual motion device. A perpetual
motion device (by definition) operates in a totally reversible manner
(which the sun does not, i.e. nuclear fusion is not 100% efficient) AND
continues to operate without the input of additional mass/energy. Even
if it continued to burn by absorbing mass, this absorption would
disqualify it as a perpetual motion device.
