P(fl) * S = P(fw) * S + (P(fw) * P(sw) * B)
Can someone help me understand why the above equation works?
Now that I know this is the right answer, I can see it by inspection
without all that algebra.
Write it this way:
0 = P(fw)*S - P(fl)*S + P(fw)*P(s)*B
and you will see that the right hand side is clearly the expected
score given the three possible outcomes and their probabilities.
