I am not really sure what you mean.
There ist alway the possibility of a "hyper" plane being a solution.
i.e. e.g.
x_3 + 5*x_5 *10*x_6 = 8
to invert a non-square matrix, some fundamental laws must be considered
first. Pleas haev a look at your linear algebra book.
