In particular for Google users:
Instead of simply hitting the prominent "Reply" link, which doesn't
include a copy of the post to which one is replying, click the "Show
Options" link (toward the top of an item in the thread), which causes
a shaded area of links to appear next to the top of the item, including
"Reply" (first) that does introduce a copy of the previous text (offset

When I googled for comments on the Google-Groups-user problem,
I saw basically the same advice quoted by Raving Loonie in alt.support.attn-deficit.
However, mensana says in comp.lang.c,
That's Mensanator.
"click the [preview] button and then click the [edit message]
button on the preview page". Do you know if that advice works,
Yes, it works, I use it all the time. And yes William Elliot
knows it, but since his agenda is Google bashing and has
no interest in what would be in the interest of the user,
he mindlessly parrots the prattle of other Google bashers.
and whether it would be easier for Google users to use?
Of course it's easier. Try it.
