Wow. I can only think of one thing to say...STFU. Oh and please stop
posting on sci.math, I believe there is a place for this kind of
discussion, sci.crank...oh I mean sci.evolution.
Min posts as he does because he thinks his every word ought to be
memorialized forever. His choice for immortality? Usenet.
His topics are too wide-ranging for anyone to specify a single
appropriate venue--although your suggestion comes close. He cross-posts
to many disparate groups for some reason--perhaps so that if his
original posts are somehow excised, they will still be remembered as
quoted by folks like you, who fulfill his design by not snipping his
post when you complain (quite properly) about his
assholitudinosityness.
Now you've done it. This is the first time I feel compelled to
actually insult one of my fellow usenet users. Someone really should
invent the usenet flame extinguisher for crackpots like you. And ban
all evlolution-related discussion for people who don't have a degree.
In biology I mean of course...
That's what talk.origins was designed for--all the idiotic
creation/evolution discussions. Unaccountably, t.o. has become a
wonderful resource for good, current information on evolution, related
issues, and the various creationist attempts to counter the TOE.
Sadly, Min can't post there. He is not banned forever, to the best of
my knowledge. However, t.o. is a moderated group (almost entirely
robomoderated, and not for content). Its rules allow no more than four
crossposted groups in any one post; no cross-posts to a few groups that
have requested this favor; and no changing of nyms to avoid kill-files.
Can you see Min following any of those rules?
So we are left with how to deal with him.
Best is just to say, "No, I won't post this reply to him."
Next best is to reply to only the group you're posting from, and
cutting all of his words (including the PGP crap and any sigs).
Worst is to do as you did. Live and learn, eh?
