James, why is it you never point people at that? Why not let people
judge
how racist it is for themselves? Why do you always /tell/ people (at
great
length, BTW) what to think about it instead of letting them /see/ what it
was all about?
I don't see why you think that is a defense for Ullrich, as it
emphasizes points I don't always make. Like how it was definitely
Ullrich who introduced race.
And it was Ullrich who said:
"..seemed to me a perfectly appropriate reply would be some sort of
racial slur.."
Later he also says he was mad:
"Like you referred to me as your lap dog or something. Boy as I mad
about that."
so JSH called Ullrich a Dog, a "Lap" Dog. (what an ***)
So readers can see that yes, Ullrich introduced race. Yes, Ullrich was
the one who talked of a racial slur being a "perfectly appropriate
reply", and he himself gives his mental state of anger.
But calling someone a ***, a jew-***, a jap, or a *** is not
something that university professors are supposed to talk about as a
"perfectly appropriate reply".
Why did you call him a *** then? JSH said it first, but why?
And it is extraordinary to take such a position about being told that
you acted as someone's lapdog in an instance.
So what was I talking about then? Why did I say that Ullrich had acted
as my lapdog in an instance?
A choice response from James that "magically disappeared" from Google
Groups, but is still in Drexel's archives:

Subject: Re: Current discussion on short FLT ***-Rigged (NR) Proof
Especially note the profanity-laden conclusion, just before which:
I never tried to get you fired. I never tried to get you to stop
posting.
I TRIED TO GET YOU TO QUIT TRYING TO TALK TO ME!!!
Ullrich has obessively replied to my posts for years, and stalked me
across newsgroups, like going to alt.writing when I wasn't talking
about anything mathematical.
Now readers learn that Ullrich, a university professor last time I
checked at Oklahoma State University, brought up racial slurs because
he'd been said to have acted as a lapdog in an instance, and stalks on
Usenet.
And he also aired a private complaint made against him on sci.math and
posters promptly targeted me, with vitriol, including posters using
racial slurs against me.
And you think you are defending him, as if my wanting this creature to
leave me alone makes me a bad person?
Pick one, or make up another:
1. James was courageously pursuing high-minded civic duty by
bringing the racism exhibited in the first post above to the
attention of Prof. Ullrich's employer and state Attorney General.
2. James was trying to bully Prof. Ullrich into not replying to him
anymore.
So, Ullrich played the race card,
So Ullrich is Black and JSH is White ??
I complained, and didn't mention
anything about him replying obsessively in that complaint, Ullrich airs
that complaint on sci.math, and maintains that it was to shut him up,
so you go with that as a fact, when yes, I have said that I wanted him
to leave me alone, but hey, he stalks me!
You clearly have no idea what it is like to be stalked.
People like Ullrich get some sick thrill out of watching you squirm as
you try to get them to JUST LEAVE YOU ALONE!
To be fair, try to ignore that James said it was #2 in the quote above --
since he apparently did his best to delete that post from archives, it's
only fair to pretend it was never posted ;-)
I delete a lot of posts. I've tried to keep away from the record on
this issue just to avoid the kind of assertions like you're making
here.
But I dare Ullrich to go to the football team at Oklahoma State
University and talk about racial slurs being appropriate replies.
I dare anyone to start talking to boosters at Oklahoma State University
about the racist professor spouting off on Usenet.
If I wanted Ullrich fired then I had any number of avenues to go about
doing it.
You people wouldn't be so brave in bringing this up--if you weren't
confident that no one on any sports teams at that school is likely to
read on a math newsgroup.
A few phone calls and Ullrich wouldn't feel safe at that school. He
would be scared to walk its campuses.
JSH threatning people again ??
Wake up people. You are pushing the line. Yet again.
James Harris
