Well more specifically I was thinking of a Comet tracking around the
gravity source of the sun. That would be different enough from the
slower motions of the stars and epicycles of the planets. Of course
according to history it took astronomers till 1705 to figure out
Halleys Comet was coming back again.
They recorded rge Halleys comet passing in the Bayeux Tapestry in 1066
so it was significant enough to notice in those times. Maybe it was
like watching womens volleyball, lots to watch but nobody does any
math?
