help graphing the Riemann Zeta function

Hello all,
I am interested in making my own graphs, using gnu-octave or anything
that runs on linux, of the Riemann Zeta function on a defined
interval. I am a mathematics major, but am just taking Abstract
Algebra I and will not take Number Theory until the summer, so bear
with me if I ask a few basic questions here and there.

What is a good formula for doing this on a pc? I only run linux so I
need to be able to do it on octave, maple, etc. I am not trying to
prove the hypothesis. I am just trying to play with the function and
see what graphs I can generate for myself.

Thanks for any help!
Tim
