You want something that will introduce you to both the number theory
and the modern algebra of algebraic number theory at the same
time. The two books that I can think of that are aimed in that
drection are one of LeVeque's "Introduction to Number Theory" books,
and Ireland and Rosen "A classical Introduction to modern Number
Theory". I suspect the latter is about what you would b ehoping for,
but you may find it a bit tough going.
