Thank you both for your help thus far. I've used the arc length
formula and came up with a different value for s than of that of you
"noone" but, I will go through and check my calculations again. My
big problem is in calculating the radius of curvature. If anyone
could provide me with a bit more detail here, I'm sure I'd be able to
make the connection. I just have no idea how to calculate the radius
of curvature.
the formula for curvature I have is K = [abs(y'')] / [1+(y')^2]^(3/2)
so does this mean y=f(x)=1-cos(theta)? If so, then i guess i'll just
have to do some really nasty work especially for the y'' (i'll have to
you product rule and chain rule to some ugly equation) I just have a
feeling this is not right.
Again, any help on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!
