I am trying to imagine "draw" how this problem looks like,
****************************************************************
The elevation of a hill at a place P due East of it is 48 degrees, and
at a place Q due South of P the elevation is 30 degrees. if the
distance from P to Q is 500 meters, find the height of the hill.
****************************************************************
my problem is with understanding the first statement.
I am imagining a point P say at (5,0) and the top of the hill say at
H(0,6). thus the segment PH could be 48 degrees on the x-axis.
but then how can Q which is South of P say Q(5,-4) would have the
segment QH making 30 degrees elevation, I think it should be much more
than 30 degrees, then my imagining is wrong.
can some one help please.
thanks
