how many turns does it max take to solve a rubiks cube of 4 x 4 x 4 ???
The answer is not even known for the 3x3x3 cube.
According to wikipedia ... there are positions that need at least 26
quarter turns, but the best proven upper bound is 35 quarter turns.
As a person who works in the area of computational group theory, I
find it frustrating and embarrassing that the most famous problem in
this area is still well outside the range of computational methods.
A remarkable confession. Reminds me of this well known Newton's word
about playing in the shallow waters of the ocean.
