I have presented my own solution that I call Digital Media Equipment
Self-Encryption, or DMESE for short, and several posters have boldly
criticized my idea. Rather than argue about its merits my challenge
to them is to give their own attempts at a solution.
The easiest way to prove all your critics wrong would be to
patent your scheme and get rich licensing it to the recording
industry. Yes, the recording industry is desperate to prevent
copying by consumers. They'd pay very many millions for a scheme
that was actually unbreakable.
Certainly desperate, they don't seem to be particularly bright either,
so I'm sure with skill you could easily get millions for a scheme even
if it didn't work. Need to be a good talker, of course. Have you got
what it takes, James? (Surely you could use _some_ of the millions to
pay the 'best' lawyers to get your pursuit of the universities
underway. And you probably wouldn't have time left to post in
sci.math. Everybody wins!)
