I have a very powerful example that might break the
clever spell that
you are under if you are sufficiently competent in
high school
algebra. Start with a Galilean universe and the
Galilean
transformations in one spatial dimension.
Instantaneousness exists in
that universe, right? Then do this exercise:

Let c stand for the speed of sound (not the speed of
light). Let the
coordinates x and t refer to events in a stationary
air medium --the
absolute frame of reference. Prove that you can reset
all the clocks
of all the moving frames such that the transformation
equations from
the stationary air medium to a moving frame of
reference is given by
the equations

x'=x-vt
t' = (Y(v)^2) (t - vx/c^2)

where again c is the speed of sound in the stationary
air and Y(v)^2 =
(1-v^2/c^2)^-1

Now prove that the speed of sound in the coordinates
of the moving
frame is c(1-v^2/c^2).

Also note that events defined as simultaneous in one
frame of
reference are not simultaneous in another frame and
that an object
moving faster than c^2/v in the absolute frame of
reference will
appear to be going backward in time in the moving
frame.

i should have snipped that crap and just say this to >the title. (which i will regret later )

tommy's grandfather was tommy1727

if tommy1729 travels to the past and kills tommy1727,
how does tommy1728 (my father) and tommy1729 ( me )
get born ??

and if not , how could i travel in time in the future ??

surprise me with an intelligent answer ...

( hope is so vain )

tommy1729

I am not claiming time travel is possible but
you have to think about this with an open mind!---

First if you went back in time and killed your
grandfather and your father was born before you killed
your grandfather, yes that would be possible.
Otherwise if you killed your grandfather before your
father was born you would not be here to go back in
time to kill your grandfather because your father
never existed therefore you never existed, simple as that!!
So there is no grandfather paradox. ;-)
