cos t = x therefore one can determine cos t in terms of sec t because
sec t = 1/x).

A bit confusing (you don't need to set cos t = x)
but yes the basic idea is that cos t = 1 / sec t
So if I have sec t I can get cos t.
Now, if I have cos t I can get sin t (how?)
Now I have both sin t and cos t. Are there
any trig functions that I can't get?
