Now I think that much of the arguing with me has been about weird
American class warfare, which traces back to lower class Brits looking
at their upper class in a peculiar and distorted way which they
transmitted to their descendants, many of whom are now US citizens.

It's amazing how you can intuit what *everybody* is doing. How you can
ascribe the same motives to *everyone* on the ng, despite the fact
that a good portion of the posters here are probably NOT of English
descent, and some are perhaps second-generation who do not have this
historical baggage. (OTOH, perhaps this explains my penchant for
British humor.)

If so, then posters arguing with me, now that it is over, may see this
as life or death and KEEP FIGHTING as if their lives depended on it.

No, you are just a source of amusement.

Well anyhow, carry on there chap. Jolly good job you're doing. Spot
on, I say!
