Wrong! The nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were partial repayments for
the attack on Pearl Harbor. Don't get angry. Get even

There's no comparison.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was an act of war.

The incineration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was genocide.

How do you characterize the Bataan Death March?

That wasn't the comparison being made.

But in any case, it's still not the same.

The obliteration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was premeditated murder of
*civilians* -- clearly a war crime by any reasonable standard.

The "Bataan Death March" involved captured enemy combatants.

Based on the wikipedia description

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataan_Death_March>

it seems clear that the tragic deaths were due mainly to a lack of
adequate supplies. The prisoners were definitely not executed.
Mismanagement, incompetence, poor judgement -- yes, premeditated
murder -- no.

In any case, it _was_ classified as a war crime, and the general in
charge was later tried and executed. For Hiroshima and Nagasaki, was
anybody even charged with a war crime, much less convicted? Did we
ever even apologize?
