A bit nervous to say the least

Have done well in algebra and trig but this sounds like
the big leagues now.

Any tips or advice?

Don't fall behind.

If something the professor says in class is unclear, ask.

Don't fall behind.

If something seemed clear but later reflection reveals you do not
really get it, go to office hours and ask.

Don't fall behind.

Worth my time to get math software such as mathematica
for my PC to help 'see" the concepts?

In my personal opinion, probably not unless you are extremely visually
oriented and had trouble with algebra and trig without the visual
examples.

Oh, and don't fall behind.
