Seriously, in case nobody mentioned it, one of the
most important things is to make sure you don't
fall behind.
Honest. If you understand last week's stuff you'll
have a good chance of understanding this week's
stuff if you pay attention, ask questions, do the
homework, etc. But if you don't understand last
week's stuff then it will often happen that you
have no chance with this week's stuff, so it gets
worse and worse.
Really. One big problem with calculus is this:
A lot of students have a lot of experience with
math courses where they can ignore a lot and then
pass the course by cramming for the final. Usually
these students find that in calculus there's too
much stuff, and too many new ideas, so that
cramming for the final simply doesn't work.
So don't fall behind.
