Hey, this isnt much of an actual math problem. But i am a senior in
high school and i am taking precalc. (i go to a trade school for the
record). When i graduate i hope to go to a college for engineering or
architecture so i figured taking a good math class would be best for
me. I am going from Algebra/Geometry to Precalc which is a pretty
large jump. The prerequisite for Precalc at my school is Algebra2 and
i did not take that. What i did was i went to a local community
college and took a math placement test and scored very high in it, it
said i qualified for precalc math. so i showed my counselor and they
put me in precalc honors for this year. my first day of precalc math
was weird, the teacher asked me what i was even doing in the classroom
because of the class i took last year and i told her i took a
placement test which told me that i qualify for precalc. the teacher
asked me if i knew how to use a graphing calculator, i said no. she
asked me if i knew any algebra 2, and i told her that i never had an
actual algebra 2 class. so the teacher thinks im dumb and i dont know
how to use a graphing calculator. i am scared i will fail/do bad in a
class my senior year and i am already ranked 31st student out of 300
students in my class (top 10%) and i dont want to screw up now. im not
sure if to back down from this class before i really mess things up
for myself or continue to challenge myself with it.
