Are you saying *you* checked with Vanderbilt? I would have thought
that Vanderbilt would not give such details, since JSH has basic
privacy rights. Of course, I could be mistaken about what a
university will or will not reveal.

I would expect a university to reveal periods of enrollment and
whether a degree was awarded or not, but not to give grades or reasons
why no degree was earned without a release from the student.

It is true that my conclusion does not directly follow from the axioms
(but then this is a JSH thread). He claims to have attended
Vanderbilt, but Vanderbilt have no record of him. From that I've
concluded that he flunked, but it may be that he never attended of
course.
