That does seem a severe limitation to me. I very often use Agent
to browse back through a thread, often even when I have already
read all the messages in it.
Until recently, it was considered good newsnet manners to include
relevant bits of prior posts into one's own post to avoid need for any
such backthreading.
And it still is so considered by me; but sometimes I need to get
more of an overview, especially after a long time (a week, say!)
has passed. But I'm a bit (!) obsessive, and perhaps (!) I take
Usenet too seriously.
