Forgive me for introducing both deliberate and accidental
confusion here, in one short phrase! I just meant that your
claimed inequality is sometimes false (I typed "sometimes
true" by mistake), i.e. the two sides are sometimes equal,
although they usually aren't. Ignore my mischievous use of
the terms "in general" and "generally". (This is a mildly
annoying feature of mathematical vocabulary, which I shouldn't
have bothered you with. I don't know what came over me.)
