In that sense we're artists _and_ engineers.
You have it backwards. Artists emulate some of what we
do. Engineers emulate some of what we do. Scientists
emulate some of what we do. But mathematics is the
sun source. We are the 3-dimensional solid of which
all other disciplines are merely 2-dimensional facets.
It should be artists saying, "we're like mathematicians,
but without the precision of thought." Engineers should
say, "we're like mathematicians, but without the imagination."
Scientists should say, "we wish we could be mathematians."
Bart (In my very humble opinion, of course.)
