Google is broken. Don't use Google newsgroups.

I know this wasn't in response to me, but: please point out a broken

Not that I've seen. And like I said, I haven't seen even that for

text" comments (which I haven't seen recently), and I have never seen
graphic characters in place of spaces. If you can't do what I asked,
then you can't complain about me, specifically, using Google Groups.
Here's an example.
Quote this with Google.
That is
<tab> Quote this with Google.
Never seen it. And theoretically, if that was the case, as I scroll my
cursor across the quote above, it should skip a certain amount (which
it doesn't). Maybe it changes *after* I send.
Now if every other blank space isn't hex A0, a graphic character,
save it off to a file and look at it with a text editor instead
of a word processors.
I copied the text in the text area as I'm writing this message, and
pasted it to a hexadecimal editor. No AO characters at all.
Is there a Google option that prevents such
perversion of quoted material?
No. But I have yet to see this 'perversion' of which you speak.
For a comparision, you could also send me your reply with quoted material
included by email.
The new fangle greedy stock market commerical Google also made it hard to
find the quote option, which was a another time when we were Google
Goosed.
I'm not sure what you mean, unless you're talking about the last
version of Google Groups, Google Groups 2 (currently this is GG3)? I
wasn't around during GG1, so I certainly don't call it 'new
fangled' (more like the old version, although it was, in some ways,
but not all, better than the current version). Yes, I do agree that
the difficulty in quoting material certainly reduced the value
considerably for Usenet use. But that's done and past.
Go away Google.
If you can find another free web-based (with the hopeful addition of
'proper') Usenet provider, please, point me to it.
A different bitch, common with some friends, is those who use a word
processor that uses few fancy graphic and control character characters for
the quote and apostrophie characters.
I take it that has nothing to do with Google Groups.
