I actually think they [Google] like the spam cause they use the number of posts

Actually, Google benefits from usenet spam in a hidden way ...

It pushes people away from usenet.

Google Groups is a _competitor_ to usenet, as well as being a usenet
gateway.

The idea from Google's point of view is simple ...

Setting up new Google Groups is easier than setting up a new usenet
Group. You have a problem with all the spam on usenet? Google's
response would be to suggest that you create a moderated _non-usenet_
Google Group.

In other words, the demise of usenet does not imply the demise of
Google Groups. Moderated _non-usenet_ Google Groups represent Google's
proprietary solution to the problem (and the beginning of the end of
true free speech).

There was a time when Google Groups would occasionally block my post
because I had made too many in a short period of time and to try
again later. "Too many" was far fewer than what we see in these spam
bursts, so this was obviously deliberated disabled by Google to
facilitate spammers.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to fix a problem they
deliberately caused.
