You seem to be confused about the nature of sci.math. It's not a
"Google group", even if that's how *you* read it. It's a Usenet group
which predates Google by some time.

Of course, Google *is* guilty in the current spamming, since the
spammers are posting through Google. But their problem isn't that
they created sci.math. It's that they have become a permissive Usenet
server.
