Moving sci.math posts to a purely Google group sounds pretty dubious.
In any case, have you seen any sign that Google gives a damn about
spam? I haven't.

The overwhelming majority of the spam is coming from their servers,
not from outside them, so I just don't see why you expect them to
rescue us. Besides, if you use a proper Usenet interface (not a web
interface), the spam isn't a big deal.
