Let f:X -> Y be a local homeomorphism.
If X is connected, then is f a homeomorphism?
If f:R^n --> R^n is a local homeomorphism, then f is a (global) homeomorphism iff
||f(x)|| --> +oo when ||x|| --> +oo.
Consequently, there are many (injective) local homeomorphisms that are not global.

homeomorphic f(V),
is not U \/ V homeomorphic to f(U) \/ f(V) = f(U \/
V) ?
