I remember it, it put me off Monty Python at the time and I've never
forgiven them. Precedents don't excuse ignorance and stupidity,
especially if the precedent was itself an example of ignorance and
stupidity.
Hunh? It is a humourous sketch deriving its force from
observing what poor liars most people are, but who will
nevertheless lie poorly and continuously rather than acknowledge
somebody else has prevailed in a discussion. I hate explaining jokes.
