A quick survey on the Internet reveals that they are from Belgium, not
from the Netherlands (: not Dutch). Without doubt, the most well known
mathematician from the Netherlands (i.e. Dutch) is L.E.J. Brouwer:

and also note that none of these had the idea

and as galatheae probably knows , yes Ingrid Daubechies is a female mathematician.

and yes she did a lot of work on wavelets and jpeg2000.

sure Riemann was german.

and i love Riemann.

but im talking about modern times.
