My former advisor had told me recently he had seen him many
times being "100% satanic." According to him, the chair is
interested in one thing only: hurting other people, especially
when there is no risk for him and when that person is weak.
That other professor who just left I e-mailed the other night
and quoted what my former advisor had said, and he agrees.

I know these professors are honest men, so I can trust their
testimony.

Not only it is disgusting that the chair of the math department
treats so many people so badly, it is even worse that the
administration doesn't care. I feel awful, and I would like to
do something to help. [...]

Perhaps these two former faculty members could provide references
for one another, explaining that they have made formal complaints
to the administration of their former college? Also, perhaps you
and some other former students could petition the administration
in support of their complaints?

(Sorry if these aren't practical suggestions; I have no experience
of dealing with this sort of thing.)
