Re: math forums

haven't been to sci.math in 10 years and haven't been
to any other
math forum either. so has this place been usurped in
the last 10
years?

my question:

what is the best mathematics forum for general
undergrad and grad
level math discussion? and are there more specialised
places that
might suit me better (i'm studying alg topology, top
manifolds, diff
geom, etc)

Topology Atlas is pretty good for alg. topology and
excellent for top. manifolds; the moderator alone is
a topof the line topologist (mostly towards the pointset part, but also some alg. topology) and an excellent mathematician in many other areas.
It also has excellent sections on analysis and
algebra. It may be somewhat weak on diff. geometry.
You get some very good people answering questions there.
There are good things to having a moderator, like not
having idiots like this MeAmImbecil.org below posting.

Physics Forum, in the math section, is pretty good
too. And you get an e-mail notice if someone posts in
a question where you have posted.

thank you
.
