I am concerned about my blood pressure, and am not finding any answers. I
have had tahcycardia for years and years, and have taken Tiazac for the
condition. The Tiazac controls the problem. I do not take Tiazac for
hypertension. My blood pressure has always been low, and I have done well
with this drug. All of a sudden, this summer, my bp has gone up
considerably. I am definiently in the pre-hypertension range, bordering on
hypertension. This is a significant change from where I was several months
ago. My lifestyle/weight/exercise and eating habits are virtually
unchanged. However, my insurance company decided I needed to take the
generic Tiazac instead the real thing. So, in June I started Diltiazem E-R,
which should give me the same results as the Tiazac. I DO intend to go to
my dr. and discuss this issue this week, as I realize its importance. I
have logged my BP for one month. Any ideas what could be going on? I do
suffer from depression, and at times am on medication for that. I am not
taking anything now, and haven't for at least a year. However, I do feel
those signs coming back, and I am stressed and worried about things. Could
this affect my BP adversely? I still wonder about the drug change due to
the timing of the BP change.
Thanks,
Barb
