It is possible that the Diltiazem E-R may have different
pharmacokinetics compared to the Tiazac. Bottomline: the generic may
not be the same as the Tiazac in your case.

Worsening depression can raise blood pressure.

It remains a possible contributor along with the worsening depression.
Would suggest you speak to your doctor about it.
