Dear Dr. Chung,
Many many thanks for your kindness. You may have noticed the post
which was dated in 1997 by Mr. Jay Masino. It appears that it is
something that many people have the same problem. The post was from
NASA. However I managed to find Mr. Masino's current email address and
wrote to him. Here is Mr. Masino's response:
'It ended up being hyperthyroidism. I had to have my thyroid function
reduced by radioactive iodine treatment, and I'm now on thyroid
replacement for the rest of my life.'
I talked to a few of my colleagues who are much larger than me and
told me that their pulses are normally around 70. I am 48 years old,
183 cm tall, 185 lb, relatively healthy other this rapid heart
problem. Now normally my pulse rate is around 90. If I move/walk/do
something that in the normal life, my heart rate is certainly above
100. It is unstable.
Dr. Chung, you are obviously an expert in the profession. I live in
Vancouver, Canada. You know the Canadian medical system is really
awkward. Without GP's handwriting, I will never have a chance to see a
cardiologist :) Because all the doctors are the government pay roll.
And specialists are expensive. Therefore I believe this is one of the
ways to control the medical cost. I understand you have an association
and a list to refer to. In this case, would you please kindly suggest
one cardiologist in Vancouver that I could approach?
Thank you very much indeed.
Nic
