Cross posting is the act of sending the same post to several groups at
the same time. In the case of sci.med.cardiology, if you examine your
newreader settings you will often see that a post is being sent not
only to sci.med.cardiology but some of the diet and nutrition and
diabetes groups as well. The first post that is crossposted must be
done deliberately. Any follow up posts are done automatically (which
means you may be cross posting without knowing it) UNLESS you go into
your newsreader and check to see if it will be sent to more than one
group. If so, highlight and delete any unwanted groups.
