And that is a good question. We know B/P follows circadian rhythm. If you
look at 24-hour blood pressure monitoring results, you see almost consistent
variation in B/P at given points in the day.

The recommendations include office measurement of blood pressure laying
down, sitting and standing. Of course, no one does this.

I went looking for "standards".....found several.

Essentially, monitor your blood ressure at home with a calibrated arm cuff.
Wrist and finger "cuffs" are notoriously inaccurate.

6-12 measurements over one - two weeks....sitting for 5 minutes, once in the
morning, once in mid-afternoon..

Discard the first-day's readings. Then average the rest together.

Or, see you doctor about 24-hour monitoring.
