When to have aorta surgery

My wife (59, 5', 145lb) has a leaky valve on left ventrical and 4.6cm
aneurism of aorta just above valve. Seems to me that at her size, 4.6cm
is a lot. Where can I view spread*** or guidelines regarding the
surgery.
Also, is it possible that if the aneurism is fixed, valve will operate
properly?..jimshew
