Carol,
You miss the point. I agree that The Message is a wonderful one.
Trust me when i say i couldn't have thought it up.
It's just our civilization has come to the point where we say
Hello, Goodbye, Dear So-and-So, Regards, Cheers, Love, Take Care,
and so forth when beginning and ending letters, emails, posts,
conversations, and so forth. It is presumptuous, pretentious,
not neighborly, arrogant, annoying, discourteous (not that I've
always been so polite), displeasant not to mention insufferable,
affected, boastful, useless and more than likely counterproductive.
How many people do you suppose have been Born Again due to the
contents of someone's usenet signature? My money's on none. My
money is on it remaining none.
