"Aerobic physical exercise did not attenuate progression of atherosclerosis, except in a subgroup of men not taking statins," the authors write. "This finding shows that regular aerobic exercise probably helps prevent atherosclerotic CVD in some men. It also supports current public health recommendations for at least 30 minutes of low- to moderate-intensity physical activity on most days of the week."
