Yes, as far as I know that kind of data is mostly missing. That does not
mean that you are not allowed to make your own conclusions based on the
available data. In fact an intelligent person is able to draw his/her own
conclusions based on the available data even if the available data is
somewhat limited. The question is about probabilities. I cannot be 100
percent sure about the safety about pantethine or policosanol but the
available data suggests that these are safer alternatives than statins. But
this is only my point of view.
