This is a decision you must make after you have talked to your doctor
Jason. Always remember this; your doctor is your consultant, there to
answer your questions. But not to make decisions for you. So gather all
the information possible. Take a notebook, ask about options, both
drug, and non-drug. First and foremost, as about diet and exercise
options. Be sure to tell him or her you do not want a one-size fits all
prescription, but want it to be fine-tuned for you. In another post Jim
Chinnis has talked about the various ways a lipid blood test is broken
down. Ask your doctor to do that, before he/she decides what to suggest
you take, if anything.

If you have cardiovascular disease, if you are diabetic, if some of
your blood work is very worrisome, the choices may be different than
otherwise. By the time you get there, you will be clear headed, armed
with a lot of knowledge and able to take charge of your heart health
planning.

Do read Dr. Cohen's website. He has a couple articles there about
statin dosage, coenzyme q10.

I can't tell you what to do Jason.

I can only encourage you to take charge of your health. It begins with
information, and the knowledge that drugs can help, but they aren't the
whole picture.
