My name is Marvin Hanashiro and I am the project manager for the UCSD
Statin Effects Study. The study you are referring to was a randomized
controlled trial assessing the impact of statins on selected noncardiac
outcomes. That study is closed and the results are still in the
process of being analyzed and published in various medical journals.

The current study is a post-marketing surveillance study looking at
adverse effects people experience while on statins. The information is
