Just returned from the test review with my cardiologist. He said he
poured over the results, as he has in past tests, looking for muscle
damage and couldn't find any. Made the comment that if my history with a
blockage wasn't known to a doc they would have no indication of any
problems and would consider the results "as normal as could be."
My ejection fraction is 65%. I'm not sure how I side-stepped any damage
as I put off seeking medical attention for about 2 weeks and the
angiogram showed a 99% blockage in my right artery. My symptoms were so
subtle I was able to explain them away pretty easily - until I got dizzy
and nauseated one day after a short walk while my left arm was aching
and I felt a burning sensation at the base of my throat. Just fortunate
I suppose.
He also said there appears to be no current blockages that are having
any impact on the blood flow to any portions of the muscle - good news
all around.
Gotta run now - and hit the road to begin my training for next summer's
stress echo...
