Re: Strange Illness For Over One Year, Please Help!

Robert,

I had a scheduled appointment to see a different Cardiologist today. I
talked to him for about an hour, told him my past history with regards
to this "year long illness"

Once he saw the red "lesions" on my arms, and once he heard a general
description of the symptoms I was having, he ordered numerous blood
cultures for various type of endocarditis. One bacterial, one fungi,
and something else (can't remember). He mentioned that those lesions
are uncommon, and that they look like "Janeway" marks to him. He firmly
felt that it could very well be a type of endocarditis.

Again, the EKG was abnormal for a person of my age. I don't know the
specifics, but he was very concerned, unlike the last doctor.

I then mentioned Lyme, he is 100% sure that this is not Lyme. Then he
went on to mention that Lyme is not present in my area. Personally, I
think he is right, as I have never seen a single tick in this area.
Even walking in the woods behind my house, I never saw a tick, ever.

>>From what I read about endocarditis, it can turn fatal fast. Would it
be possible to have endocarditis and still be alive over one year
later?

Once those blood cultures return, I'll post with the results.

Thanks again,

Bill
