It's sad, actually. A colossal waste of a lot of academic effort, a waste of a mind able to get through a rigorous program of study, a loss of valuable contribution from someone who once was large enough to have the ambition, ability and fortitude to have devoted himself to his field with clear single-mindedness.


That capacity to focus led him astray, down narrower and narrower paths where his behavior had no bounds, no ethical or moral restraints and where the goals became ever more evanescent.

Sad. He's damaged goods.
