car airbags dangerous for pacemaker wearers?

I hear say that the car airbag action may be highly dangerous to the
related passenger (or driver) who does not keep his seatbelt fastened.

I also hear say that car drivers should not keep their seatbelt
fastened if they wear a pacemaker implanted below the left
shoulder-blade (*).

If all that is true, should I assume that the modern cars (equipped
with a lot of airbags) should be off-limits for the pacemaker wearers?

(*) assuming a right-hand drive country. Otherwise it is the opposite.

Thank you
.
